From the 2008 programme
The original Aperture Road Tour was one of the first classes in the world to show photographers how to take their Aperture images and use them to create super-powerful presentations, websites, brochures, podcasts and more. We'll continue on that tradition in our session on integrating Aperture with other parts of Apple's creative tools and delve into both iWork and iLife integration with Aperture. This powerful session will show you how to make the most of your images, and how to create stunning content with almost no effort.
What it still teaches
This was the session most tied to its moment. Leopard had shipped a few months earlier, and the class showed photographers how to pull images from Aperture into iLife and iWork to build slideshows, websites, brochures and podcasts. The original pages of this site were made with iWeb, part of the same iLife suite.
Most of those applications have gone or changed past recognition. The question behind the session hasn't: what else could this set of pictures be? A slideshow at a reception, a short film for a venue, a printed guide for a client. Images do more work once they leave the library.
The tools are now mostly mobile and mostly video. For working photographers, a short slideshow or a vertical cut from the selects is as normal as a gallery link, and it is often the thing that gets shared.
